2nd Anniversary Celebration!

Join us for our 2 year anniversary celebration! We’ve been here for 2 whole years, and we’re excited and honored to be a part of the NOLA Mid-City community. For this event, we’ve decided to bring back some of our most popular events over the past two years. We’ve also invited some local writers/artists and have some fun all day events planned! We’ll have events and giveaways happening all day, so stop by and help us celebrate!

10:00-11:00 AM: Free donuts & coffee! (While supplies last)

12:00 – 1:00 PM: Draw Your Own Manga Workshop with Samantha Hallenus

Last year, our Draw Your Own Comic Workshop was a hit! We take a new spin on it this year with Samantha Hallenus teaching manga. Make sure to pre-register here to ensure you receive the handouts and to print your ticket and bring with you to be entered to win a special prize.

3:00 – 4:00 PM: Write Your Own Fantasy Novel with Eva Vanrell & Kimberly Richardson

We have such a creative local community rife with budding writers, and here’s your chance to get that kick in the pants needed to start writing your own fantasy novel!

5:00 – 6:00 PM: Geek Speed Dating

Our Dungeons & Dating event was so much fun, and many have been asking when we’re going to reprise it. We thought no better time than our anniversary! Stop by during this hour and partake in our version of “speed dating,” which is likely very different than you’ll expect! Anyone can participate, single or not (but if you are single, maybe you’ll meet some cool, like-minded people!).

6:00 – 8:00 PM: Retro Geek Night

Our Retro Geek Night event has been super popular! Join us this night as we watch Labyrinth! (Costumes encouraged)

ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF USED BOOKS & SUPPLIES FOR UNITED WAY FLOOD RELIEF

Used Book Drive

We’ll be accepting science fiction and fantasy used books for the store in exchange for store credit.

We’ll also be accepting paperback book donations for Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners. Popular requests include mysteries/thrillers, westerns, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and urban fiction. Hardcovers, textbooks, general fiction, children’s books, damaged books, and outdated books will not be accepted for prisoners. You can get more information and a wish list on their website!

Cleaning/Toiletries Drive for People Affected by the Flood
We’ll be accepting cleaning supplies and toiletries ONLY for people affected by the flood. You can view a list of what is needed here.

All Day Gaming
We’ll be open all day for gaming! And, if you play our game-within-a-game, you can win cool prizes!

Find the Hidden Rupee Scavenger Hunt
Figure out all the puzzles and you may just get to smash a clay pot…
