What We're Reading πŸ“š πŸ‰ CANDICE: Breath of t What We're Reading πŸ“š πŸ‰ CANDICE: Breath of the Dragon by Fonda Lee and Shannon Lee. It's based on characters and teachings created by Bruce Lee, and the fight scenes are immaculate, which is to be expected from an author like Fonda Lee, who writes some of the best fight scenes I've ever read. If you're into martial arts media, you should definitely pick this up! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ CAMERON: Marsha by Tourmaline (goes on sale in May!). This biography of Marsha P. Johnson goes beyond the vastly oversimplified β€œshe threw the first brick at Stonewall” narrative to explore who she was to her community and how her legacy shaped the LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Her story is humanizing and hopeful while speaking directly to the ways the movement has failed the very people who started it. This is a book for our times! πŸ‘‘ SHANNON: I am re-reading Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. When the first son of the United States falls in love with his nemesis, Prince Henry of the United Kingdom, under the guise of a geo-political public relations campaign, sexy, heart-wrenching hilarity plays out.
