About the Books & Author

ABOUT THE HOUSE ON MANGO STREET

Published in 1984, Cisneros’s powerfully intimate story that centered the young Latinx voice and working-class experience of Esperanza Cordero made The House on Mango Street a modern classic that has become an essential coming of age text taught in elementary, high school, and universities across the United States.

ABOUT MARTITA, I REMEMBER YOU

In her latest publication Martita, I Remember You/Martita te recuerdo, the author again meditates on the lives of women by exploring the transcendental friendships that serve to nourish us throughout our lives despite distance and time.
