Independent Bookstore Day 2019

It’s time to celebrate your favorite local indies! 2019 Independent Bookstore Day marks its fifth year of celebrating independent bookstores nationwide, with literary parties around the country. While IBD is being celebrated on April 27th in most locales, in New Orleans, it is being celebrated on May 11th so as not to conflict with Jazz Fest. Local book lovers should mark their calendars now for this special day of literary celebrations.

Tubby & Coo’s will offer exclusive day-of merchandise created especially for Independent Bookstore Day by major publishers and authors.

If you want to get your hands on any of our exclusive items, they will be first come, first served on Independent Bookstore Day, Saturday, May 11. We will not sell items ahead of time, hold items, or accept pre-orders. You must come to the store that day to purchase exclusive sale items.

We’ll also be teaming up with the other local indies: Octavia Books, Garden District Book Shop, & Blue Cypress for fun and prizes! Pick up a “passport” at any store. Visit all four stores and get your passport stamped/stickered, then show your completed passport at the last store you visit. You will then be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to ALL FOUR stores, a prize worth $200!
