Southern Bookseller Review Indie Bookstore Day Scavenger Hunt 2024! Indie Bookstore Day AND our grand opening at @_thegoodshop_ is THIS Saturday, April 27, and we are so excited!

This week is Indie Bookstore Spirit Week, and in celebration, the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (@siba_books) has created this Southern Indie Bookstore Bingo social media scavenger hunt to introduce you to bookstores across the South. Participate and potentially win a $100 gift card to our store!

Belle Adelman-Cannon was a local genderfluid teen

Belle Adelman-Cannon was a local genderfluid teen who was beloved by their friends, family, & community. Belle died tragically on June 3, 2023, at age 17, after being hit by a bus walking home from work at Grow Dat Youth Farm. This is their first and only publication - a book of poems their mom found on their phone. Belle's consciousness and spirit will continue to live through the book and the impact they had on everyone lucky enough to cross their path.

Grow Dat Youth Farm (@growdatyouthfarm), a place Belle worked, is currently under threat of being erased in City Park's new master plan. In honor of Belle, we are donating 10% of sales of their book to Grow Dat.

We're honored to sell Belle's book and be able to spread their light in this small way ❤️ Books can be ordered directly from us at the tagged product link & at the link in our bio.

I'll be slinging poetry at @neworleanspoetry this weekend, April 20-21, at the Healing Center! The Poetry Festival is completely free to the public, so come out and see panels, readings, events, workshops, and the Small Press Bookfair! It's a great place to discover extremely lovely poetry and indie presses. ✍️📚 Come check it out!
